Fashion/Style Questions

Out of everyone - celebrities, dead people, and even your friends and family; Who is your Style Icon right now and why?
Someone I admire drool over is Zooey Deschanel. She’s all about girly, baby doll dresses, tights, flats, barrettes, bows, and super luscious awesome hair. She is a role model for all those sweet, quiet girls out there who believe in kindness and compassion and wearing cute dresses. Hellogiggles.com I also highly admire Lady Gaga. It's because she is so confident in who she is, no matter how she looks. She advocates for the under dogs and speaks out for individuality and personal creativity. She's meticulous, weird, wild, and interesting.

How would you describe your personal style?
Retro, girly, comfortable, natural.

What is your favorite clothing combination?
I dig the leggings/stockings/tights with everything look. With dresses, skirts, long shirts, boots, flats, shorts, whatever.

Where do you buy/get the majority of your clothing?
Thrift stores. My favorite is Re-Style in Boise. Sometimes I shop at JC Penny. Sometimes Ross.

What of your outfits is your favorite?
This is a hard one for me to answer. I tend to love something then hate it and then love something else. Right now I am kind of in love with wearing my skinny jeans with a floral dress, brown belt, gray cardi, and brown oxford shoes. [See post about my art show at The Manor.]

Which is most comfy? Most you? Most perfect for going out?
Semi-loose, but also fitted. Dresses and sweaters. And most perfect for going out is something I still haven’t figured that out just yet. I always seem to get a headache trying to decide what to wear out.

Which do you most prefer & why - Thrift Stores or Department Stores/Malls?
Thrift stores. It’s always an adventure and when you find that perfect thing it makes your day and doesn't empty your wallet.

What are the best deals/finds you’ve encountered?
I have truly found the best finds for the least amount of money at Re-Style. Oh, and some brand name finds at the Freestore. ;)

Are you interested in 'Do It Yourself'?
YEP!

Do you do DIY’s? If so what is the favorite thing you’ve done?
The things I’ve made so far are feather headbands and handbags. I want to make more hair accessories and I want to get more into DIY with thrift store finds, as well as shoes and tights.

Some Questions About You

Where do you like to be the majority of your time?
With Brian, anywhere.

Are you most likely to be home or out somewhere?
I'm a homebody! I have intentions of ambition though and would love to travel more. I’d also like to find some friends to do things with. And money to spend on those things.

Who is one of your role models?
My dad. He’s like a best friend. He’s the only one I can talk movies with.

If you’re having a bad day, what do you do to help brighten up your mood?
Watch Glee, Write, Take a walk, Go on a photo adventure. Drink coffee. Eat pie.

If you could go anywhere in the world right this second, where would you go?
Oregon. I need some beach and ocean and tall trees and wet pavement.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In ten years I’ll be 36, almost 37. Woah. So I better be somewhere pretty awesome. Or at least by then have been to awesome places and maybe settled down in a quiet house, with a big back yard, a dog, and Brian.

What song or music album are you currently addicted to?
I suppose it's "Jesus Jesus" by Noah Gundersen. It's kind of my theme song right now.

What’s one of the most beautiful things you’ve ever seen?
So far… I suppose the most beautiful thing I’ve seen might be the sky. I’ve seen it all over the country and it always amazes me. Particularly the sky in Florida at sunset. It truly is one of the things I can look at and it instantly cheers me up. The sky, is transcendent, at all times.

What is one of your goals to achieve this year?
Make this blog something special, do several public art showings of my photography, do all the super elaborate shoots I have in my head for this year, and truly make a name for myself in the local area and maybe even beyond.

What do you like best about fashion?
It’s the number one way you can instantly share with people how you feel that day, who you are, and who you want to be. And it’s fun to just always have something new to wear, show off, and express.

Where do you find the most peace?
Somewhere outside, without anyone around, with the air and a rock to sit on. And the beach!

How do you like your eggs?
All over the place. But I mean, I like my eggs almost every way there is. Scrambled if I’m lazy. Eggy in a basket or in a bagel if I’m feeling creative. Soft boiled if I’m even more lazy. And over-easy, my favorite, if someone else makes it, because I never can.

I am married to my best friend, who shares all the same passions and is also a photographer. He also plays a mean piano. My greatest desire is to make a great life for the both of us. Something simple, happy, and adventurous. I want to travel and see everything I can. I want to drink a lot of coffee in a lot of different coffee places and eat Mexican food in all the Mexican restaurants in America. I want to live in Europe for a few years. And then I want to slowly grow old with Brian, find a home to live in and sit on rockers on the front porch and quietly watch the sunset every day.
